Scarlet, a 17 year old girl with family issues, meets a interestingly morbid young man and after her parents and siblings are taken from her, the whole world begins to parish.
Starting in her small town, an outbreak of, experimentally induced, creatures causes a group of 8 children, ages ranging from 10 to 19, to be locked smack in the middle of someone else's mess. Scarlet, Ace, Oliver, Alex, and the rest of the gang must adjust to this dangerous and, painstakingly, destructive world to lead humanity out of the depths and into the light.
