If there ever were an example of how corporate interests have taken over
legislation in this Country, this is it.
It appears that neither Ms. Deschamps could do much of anything, or, could the
police. They were hamstrung by the law. Those who wrote the laws, and those
who “paid” for the laws, the NRA, etc., are to blame.
Until the laws are changed, which likely is never, this wil be an increasingly
common occurrence.

It just goes to show you; keep the distances travelled to a minimum, and for God's sake, don't give in to the temptation to put the pedal to the metal:)
You have it all here in this delightful short story. Good characters, well defined, great pace and grammar, but above all you have an INTERESTING plot with a real dilemma. This is the Hallmark of a successful story. The resolution left nothing to be desired, but it did leave me wondering if it just might work!

Great job. This is not the publication of a writer's work from Creative Writing 101, it's a work by someone who has studied the craft and mastered all the essentials.
