I like this - a lot. You have all the basics of good writing, and with just a little fine tuning, your book will have the level of professionalism that publishers look for. Your characters are instantly engaging, you haven't fallen into that awful trap of introducing new POVs with a heading, and your story arc is fluid and well-spaced.
