I really appreciate all the great comments and feedback from everyone. I am happy to help anyone with reading their stories or giving my opinion anytime.
Kudos are in order for your being in the top eleven! Good luck in the final three selection. Elizabeth
Welcome to the site. I look forward to reading many more of your stories. Your contribution was heartfelt and I am sure many of us can relate. My daughter was involved with AYSO, softball and basketball - and the feelings of the girls were very similar to those of your boys. You have described a segment of your life very well and I am certain your sons are very proud of their dad. Well done!
filled with heart felt emotion. My husband and I raised three sons and the best time for them was bonding with their dad either watching a game or playing one in the backyard. He too, like you, had stress related issues but the boys know that their dad loved them above all. As do you with yours. ...Paula
p.s. welcome to the site
I really like the concept of this short story. In particular, that it is a very honest account of how I think most parents REALLY feel(well, the good ones anyway). The word 'perfect' does not co-exhist with 'parenting'. That's one profession that allows for as many failures as triumphs, But I would bet that if you asked your kids, they would probably say it was one of the 'greatest times in their life' too.
