6, but I can do literary works only in 3, viz, english, hindi and sanskrit. Though, by the end of next year, I'll be able to expand it to atleast german, french and russian, and possibly spanish, on which I haven't got much hold at the moment.

sanskrit; its so deep . I'm not much of a linguist , French and Italian but by no way fluent. Ive had books translated into Italian, Spanish Russian and Chinese because |I feel this is one world now and we must respect other languages and cultures and its interesting the perspective another language has. The storytelling in other languages is revealing ; there seem to be some universal stories and then some specific to certain cultures/languages.

I want to be a linguist. considering I'm hardly 18 I've got a long time to be one. But I know sanskrit by heart. I can translate anything from sanskrit to hindi or english at the moment, rest I have to learn. I want to be able to mingle with all sorts of people of various nationalities, and there's no better way than being versed in their tongue. But chinese is difficult to learn, you must be brilliant to translate something to chinese, as they don't use basic characters to spell words, they use characters FOR words!
