I think it's wonderful that you took the time to include Preston's illustrations. Not only does it help young children visualize the story, but a few good illustrations (in my book) are a great bonus even in adult literature.

Introducing children to concepts like Alheimers is always a good call, in my book. On top of that, you tackled some serious issues, like medicines becoming so numerous and prevalent in modern life.

Add in tons of vocabulary, and you've got something that should be read in schools. Who knows, maybe someday, it will be. :)

...and looking at them from different perspectives/angles. It makes these situations much less frightening for children, when they are able to relate through animals. I loved your "Digging Bones" book too. Preston gets an A+ for the illustrations...:)
