Thank you very much...and yes, I'm sure the "event" has been created by Hollywood in the past, but I'd like to see a modern version, true to the actual incidents. It was a looooong, horrifying ordeal for the family, especially for those (the girls) who died last. And yes, there was a guard who was drawn to Anastasia. How ironic.

...that was despicable as it was fascinating. I feel a theme for a contest coming on. A fictional take on a real historical event...or have we already done that?

Regardless, I enjoyed your story and the ending was very poignant, as it should be in such circumstances.
