A pretty well-crafted story. But to be honest this piece just stopped short of being perfect. And for a writer like you, perfection is a must.
I was disappointed with Norman, who seemed to be more of a 'crude and rudimentary' serial killer; certainly not a purist. And, as you well know, the readers always love purists. Most serial killers, when finally caught, are found to be devoid of any form of terror. Instead, they feel proud and bathe in their own notoriety. However, in case of Norman, he felt terrorized when he realized what was going to happen with him in the end. That's normal human behavior, not the behavior of someone who has killed nineteen woman just for sadistic pleasure.
All these shortcomings can be resolved easily and yes, this can be a doozie.
I loved the concept of four minutes as well. All in all, another brilliant piece from an exceptional writer.
