This is a true but a very short story. I hope that you enjoy it as well as I did when it happened.
At the time, my son was two years old. It was a day like any other. It was the weekend, I was at work and my wife was home with our son. While our son was playing, my wife decided to do some laundry. After she had gotten the first load in, she fixed some lunch for him. After lunch she gave him some "Goldfish" to snack on--Goldfish was one of his favorite snacks next to Cheerios. After the first load of laundry was done, my wife took the wet cloths, put them in the dryer and started getting the second load ready for the wash. At this time our son came into the laundry room to see what his mom was doing. She told him that she was washing clothes. As the tub was filling up, our son took a handful of his goldfish and put them into the washing machine. My wife looked at him with a puzzled look on her face and asked him why he put the goldfish in the wash. He replied “I wanted to see if they could swim." At that time my wife could do nothing but laugh. When I got home from work that day, she told me all about the goldfish in the laundry. I just looked at him and started to laugh myself.
This happened in 1994. Now, our son is grown up and a Marine. Serving his country with pride and Goldfish…
