I observed.

I planned.

I conquered.

 

Finally after 16 years of hell I was free, free of him, free of his abuse both physically and verbally. I felt like a new woman; a free woman. Then she came. Bringing her riches and wealth flaunting it like a trophy that should be adored and adore I did she gave me an opportunity and I took it like my life depended on it... I guess in a way it did. 

 

I didn't ask.

I should have asked. 

 

Then maybe I wouldn't be in this messed up predicament, but opportunity doesn't knock twice, especially for people like me.
