Alexia Stargazer:

I woke up that night and sighed we needed meat, and now that it was dark I would go, I sat up and looked around my room for my bow and arrows, it had a small shelf with collectables on it, a small dresser, a small night stand with a lamp and my bed from which I got up from and started to collect my bow and arrows along with a couple of blankets and a saddle bag. I slipped out my room and into the living room my aunt and cousin were in the room next to mine I listened to see if my they were still asleep then walked over to the door and slipped quietly out. I walked to the barn and brought out Starfire, who I had found the day before, he was something to stumble upon as black as night with bright blue eyes. I saddled and bridled him then packed the blankets in the saddle bag and clipped it on behind the saddle I then grabbed my cloak and tied it on slipping the hood on my head to hide in plan site if need be. I stepped into the stirrup and got on Starfire bow in hand with my arrows in a sheath on my back. We set out at a walk. The village was about half a mile away. The forest was to the north where all the game stayed, it was least populated and dangerous the story is as strange as the woods and only I have been brave enough to challenge it more then once. I am only 17, but for my age I have much more experience then most. I heard a branch snap and turned to investigate. We had come to the edge of the forest, the noise had come from the right of me. Starfire snorted, I readied my bow, but nothing was there. I shrugged and continued nudging Starfire forward. The forest was misty and gray with dark green shapes for trees. I looked around, ducking under branches when I needed to, it was hard to see so I slipped off and started leading Starfire, soon I heard another branch snap I turned and shot it hit but what it hit amazed me. As I got closer the air got clearer until I was in a meadow. I had shot a knight but were the others where I had no idea nor did I want to know yet. I walked over to him Starfire following. I stood beside him. My shot had missed, surprisingly, and hit him in the shoulder. He looked at me angrily.
“What the hell?!” he whispered angrily. I shrugged and started away.
“Wait!” he called I turned angrily.
“Be quiet you'll scare all the deer within a mile away” I whispered angrily coming back to stand beside him. He was panting.
“Sorry but its your fault when they die.” he started but now I had him on his feet. He gulped.
“What did you say?” I asked my voice was dangerously calm. He struggled to get out of my grasp but the arrow stopped him.
“They were planning to kill the village close to here for reasons that I am not sure of ” he started but I had dropped him grabbed the sword on the ground and jumped up on Starfire we galloped back to the village only to come to it in flames. I cried out in sorrow then turned toward home we were surrounded by knights, they all smiled and cackled. I shook with rage. Starfire pawed the ground and reared I held on but as he did so I struck out, killing a knight.
“Stop or you will die” one said I shook my head. Starfire shook his head and jumped high clearing the knights and galloping back the way we had come, he stopped, we were at the meadow again the knight was still there. Starfire snorted, sidestepped and trotted over to the knight. I dropped his sword and slipped to the ground and looked him over he was unconscious. I heard yelling and quickly picked the knight, throwing him on Starfire carefully and set off to a secret place I had found a long time ago.
We finally got there before mid afternoon it was a big tree with its roots parted in the middle it was a small opening only big enough for Starfire to get in. I got off and lead him in with his bridle then slipped the soldier off and set him down. I checked the wound and carefully pulled it out, he groaned but did not wake. I sighed and threw the arrow to the side and started untacking Starfire and getting one of the blankets so I could rip it and make bandages for the soldier. I shook my head and set it aside for a moment and went outside and gathered some wood. When I returned he was trying to sit up.
“What do you plan to do?” I asked him setting the wood down with a loud crack. He jumped and gasped at the pain that created. I shook my head and started to build a fire. As soon as it was started I got my water-skin and set it beside the fire to warm it, then ripped a thin piece of the blanket and started toward him he backed up a little gasping. I shook my head.
“I am not going to do anything just let me help you” I said in a dead voice. His eyes widened but he didn't move again. I removed his armor and tunic to examine the wound, it was bleeding badly and it had hit bone but wasn't strong enough to break anything.
“Well one things for sure you wont die from this.” I said grabbing my water-skin and pouring the hot water on the piece of blanket and dabbing the wound to clean it. He laughed shakily.
“Thanks a lot” He said sarcastically. I coughed and then set the cloth to the side. I got up and started out.
“Where..” he started
“your wound needs to heal fast and there is only one such plant that can do that, I am going to get it .” I said. Starfire followed me and as soon as I was able I jumped up on Starfire and we started off deeper into the woods I turned from left to right combing the forest for the plant that would speed the healing I found it close to were I had found the knight. I slipped off and carefully pulled it out. I climbed back on Starfire and we walked back to the old tree the knight was waiting, knife in hand. He jerked to attention when I came in, I had to duck for fear of his knife hitting its mark. I scowled but went over to the fire and grabbed the water-skin and found a flat rock. I went to find the knife he had thrown and grabbed it, finding it by the opening. Good thing I did because just then another Knight came into view he was on a dark horse I slipped into the darkness of the cave the knight in my care, chuckled.
“What? He is a friend” he said catching my warning look. I shook my head and slipped out ambushing the rider. He yelped but I quickly covered his mouth and pulled him into the cave, I went back to bring his horse in then I looked at them to see them whispering to each other. I scowled.
“What are your names?” I asked angrily. They looked to me.
“My apologies Lady, I never had the time” The first one said mockingly. I growled then went back to work mixing the plant with the water once it was finished I took it over to the first soldier poured it over his wound then had him drink it. The wound healed as I watched it and both of them gasped. I shook my head.
“I have been nice enough now either go and never speak of me or this place or I kill you” I said dully. They both laughed and stood.
“Now that I'm healed you can't” the first said. I smiled and punched him in the shoulder he gasped and collapsed. His friend dropped down beside him.
“What...” he started looking at me. I shook my head.
“It is nothing now what are your names?” I asked sitting down beside the one, he was groaning and gripping his shoulder. The other soldier sighed.
“I am sorry, My name is Archer and this is my friend Jason” He said with a shiver. I sighed then pulled my cloak tight to fight the cold. I looked at Jason then stood and got the blanket and the scrap that was a couple inches shorter.
“Here” I said handing him one then laying the other on Jason, he was now out cold. Archer settled on Jason's left while I sat on the other.
“What...?” He started. I shook my head.
“Sleep, tomorrow I leave.” I said. I didn't want to know who or what or anything about the disaster at home. He sighed and lay down. I stayed up listening as his breathing slowed and he fell asleep. I stayed up all day and night watching the horses till dawn the next day. At dawn I shook my head and sighed. I looked to Jason and Archer both were still asleep. I stood and started packing up. I was saddling Starfire when I felt it. It was a whisper that soon faded leaving me shaky. I finished saddling Starfire and woke the others. They sat up Jason rubbing his shoulder Archer his eyes.
“This is were we part” I started leading Starfire out. I was stopped.
“Don't you want to know what happened to your village?” Archer asked coming up beside me just outside the trees roots. I climbed on Starfire and looked down at him.
“You deserve the truth” Jason said coming out slowly to stand with Archer. It was tempting. I shook my head.
“No” I said and started off but I soon pulled Starfire to a stop and turned to see Jason and Archer scrambling to get their horse ready. I turned Starfire around and trotted next to them.
“I will lead you out but that is all” I said. They looked at each other then back to me.
“Jason will need to ride with you then” Archer said slyly, Jason and I gaped at him and he laughed.
“Well my horse is spirited you will fall off and get kicked.....” He grinned evilly
“Unless we find your horse Jason” Archer finished, chuckling. I laughed then stopped to listen. As I listened I heard several things. One, was soldiers rustling around trying to find me, the other was hooves. I smiled.
“Wait here one second” I said starting away.
“Oh I almost forgot hide a soldier will pass here in a while” I added then I nudged Starfire into a canter. I found his horse pretty close to where we had met. I grabbed its reins and started back quietly. I found no trouble until I came to the tree, it was surrounded. I sighed then brought out my bow aimed and fired. The first knight collapsed the others jumped to see what was wrong and I saw Jason and Archer jump into battle taking one after another out. I soon jumped off Starfire and grabbed a sword and joined the battle myself careful not to kill Jason or Archer. When the battle was almost over more came I shook my head and whistled to the horses, they came out to us. I untied Jason's horse and jumped on Starfire and started off at a gallop with the other two following. I slowed to let Jason catch up.
“We need to talk when there is time” I said then urged Starfire forward faster. We continued for some time but the horses then refused to move another step after having traveled for almost two days. I sighed at the inconvenience that created but started to make camp with what little I had. Jason and Archer watched me still on their horses.
“Well if you don't get off those horses they will collapse on you.” I told them then stopped to look around, I had no idea where we where yet it still seemed familiar.... It was a kind of small open space with trees surrounding it as if to hide us from the world as they were thick enough to.
“My lady?” Archer asked pulling me from my thoughts. I turned to see him waiting behind me, Jason was sitting on the other side of the camp. I shook my head to clear it.
“Knight?” I asked. He shook his head and laughed.
“Hardly we are both renegades, but I do have one question..” he started.
“And what is that?” I asked him after a minuet of silence. He smiled and gestured around him.
“Were have you brought us?” he asked looking back to me. I looked around and sighed.
“I have no idea..” I started then looked at Jason remembering. I pointed at him.
“You have some explaining to do” I said walking over to him as he grabbed a long thick branch in his hand for the fire.
“I have nothing for you” he said straitening. I slapped him across the face he stumbled back, a hand to his face, shocked.
“Jason, My Lady..” Archer started but I stopped him with a glare.
“No I will except nothing but the truth” I said angrily. I heard a whooshing sound. I ducked, turning to see Jason had swung the stupid stick.
“You” I started angrily then stood up, turned and left, slipping through the trees.
“My Lady!” Archer called after me but I wasn't going to stop. I went deeper and deeper then stopped by a fallen tree and sat there and started to cry. I had lost everything.
“You should not have left them” A gentle voice said. I looked up to see Starfire had followed me.
“Did you just..” I started shocked, I could even feel my eyes widen. He nodded his head his mane flying.
“I did not reveal it because it was important not to, until now” He said pawing the ground.
“You must go back, you need them and it was your fear not your anger that caused you to strike, now face it for their will be more” He said kneeling for me to climb on. I sniffed, rubbed my eyes, and climbed on. He cantered back to the camp where Jason and Archer where yelling at each other.
“Enough!” I yelled. They both snapped to attention. Jason soon scowled and Archer sighed with relief.
“I am done I will have no more, if you want to journey with me then fine stay if not leave” I said looking pointedly at Jason.
“I will leave tomorrow a dawn” I finished sliding off Starfire and grabbing a blanket and leaning against a tree to sleep. I fell asleep almost instantly but instead of a dreamless sleep I had a nightmare...
there were two sides facing each other then one started charging and collided. I was in the middle watching as Archer and Jason fall then the rest of them until I was the last one...
I woke with a start and jumped into action putting a saddle on Starfire slipping everything back into the saddle bag that I had taken out then turned to see Jason standing behind me arms crossed.
“Where you going?” he asked as I took a step back into Starfire. Fear crossed me then anger.
“Why do you care?” I asked angrily. Starfire nudged me and nickered. I sighed and looked around for Archer.
“He left to find something to eat it has been almost two days since you last talked. Archer said it was because you kept watch for the two nights at the cave and the night before last” He added both answering my question and adding one. I scowled at him then sat down, Starfire stamped his foot and I jumped right into Jason's arms. I gulped and tensed while Jason laughed, it is a sound I will never forget, a sound of music.
“Relax, “ He started still holding me by my arms and me by his.
“I am sorry about everything” he added softly. I looked into his eyes they were a deep green filled with mystery. I shook my head lifting the spell he had on me and took a step back.
“I am sorry I never meant any harm I just..” I paused looking away to the right then down at my feet.
“I have lost everything I knew” I started looking back up into his eyes.
“I tried...” I started but I lost it and my tears came freely. He took me into his arms, calming me with shushing and whispers that everything would be okay. We stayed like that, but for how long I couldn't tell. I calmed down but stayed in the comfort of his arms.
“Jason I am sorry for shooting you” I started then took a step back and looking around.
“Wheres Archer?” I asked forgetting for a moment in the fear of losing a good friend. Jason sucked in a breath and looked around too.
“He left to go hunting..” He said looking back to me. I shook my head with a laugh. Jason smiled and chuckled.
“What's so funny?” Archer said from behind me. I yelped and jumped right into Jason we fell together me on top. We stared at each other then I busted up laughing and rolled off him, still laughing. Archer was standing over both of us scowling.
“Did you catch anything?” Jason asked leaning back on his elbows and looking up to him, chuckling. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath then opened them to see Jason standing with a hand out to me. I grabbed it and he pulled me up. We took a step back and I looked to Archer.
“Why?” I asked him. He scowled.
“Cause he can't shoot” Jason said chuckling. Archer tried to smack him but missed.
“Enough” I said shaking my head.
“Boys” I tutted, teasing, they both looked at me then Jason started cracking up the sound lightened my aching heart. Archer scowled.
“I will find something” I said looking over to Starfire. My bow and arrows where on his back. I went over to him and grabbed them and started off.
“Hey wait” Jason called behind me. I turned.
“Shhh you'll be to loud” I said as he came over to me. He smiled.
“Teach me then” he said. I smiled and shook my head then looked around him to Archer who was still scowling.
“I'll help you out tomorrow” I said then slipped into the woods before he could answer. Jason stayed with me but he was just loud. I turned and looked him up and down. He wore armor on his legs and arms nothing covered his chest. I shook my head then turned to a tree and dug a hole besides it. When I was done I looked up to him.
“Take those off and give them to me” I asked him holding out my hands for the armor. He didn't move for a second then he sighed and slipped the shine guards and arm guards off and gave them to me. I shook my head.
“No wonder you can't catch anything” I said as I buried them then I stood and grabbed my bow and arrows from the ground. He was trying not to laugh as I put the arrows sheath on my back.
“Well?..a deer can hear you from a mile away with that stuff.” I added smiling. He stopped and looked at me. He looked down at the dirt were his stuff was buried then back to me.
“I will get those back though right?” he asked seriously. I chuckled evilly and started off.
“My Lady?” he asked. I turned.
“My name is not My Lady,” I said with a small bow.
“It is Alexis” I said a little angry then beckoned to him.
“Now come knight before we are too late” I said with a small smile I started off again. I heard him grumble then follow. We walked for a while before I heard anything. I checked to make sure it wasn't horses, men or anything other then deer, then I beckoned Jason forward and grabbed his arm so he could follow my eye through the brush.
“He is there” I whispered pointing to a big buck drinking from a lake of water. Jason started forward again when I stopped him. He looked back.
“What now?” he whispered. I smiled then gave him the bow and an arrow and set it for him showed him how to aim and let him try. He succeeded in hitting it in the leg but it wasn't enough to kill it. I took the bow and got another arrow aimed and let it fly the arrow hit the buck square in the side going through to come out an inch out of his chest. He stood for a moment before falling at the edge of the trees. Jason was shocked as I stood and went over to it. I looked back to see him still standing were I had left him.
“Well come on now I will need your help” I said though not true, I did need him to come because I didn't know these woods and didn't want to lose him. He chuckled and bowed.
“yes my Lady” He said laughing aloud. I looked around worriedly. He came over and looked down at the dead buck.
“Well that was a good shot and the fastest I have ever seen not even Archer could move that fast” He said bending down to take a closer look.
“Lets hurry I don't like how quiet it got..” I started. Jason looked at me then around the forest. It was then that I heard it. It was like the beating of a drum but much softer and louder. I looked up to see a silhouette in the sky. I grabbed Jason's arm and jerked him into the forest. The silhouette came to be a cobalt dragon. It landed by the lake its scales glistened like blue stars. Jason started to move forward.
“No leave it” I said pulling him down to sit beside me. The Dragons head snapped toward us and it shuffled its wings and started toward our kill. I watched it and realized for some reason in stead of fear I felt awe and recognition. A branch snapped and its head snapped over to us again. It snarled menacingly.
“Come out or else” I heard it say. Its mouth didn't move but I still heard him. Then the sound of hoof beats reached me and Starfire jumped out in front of it and reared, wings coming from his back flapping in the dragons face, it hissed then backed up. It started to laugh all hostility gone.
“Starfire is that you?” It asked. Starfire nodded.
“Yes my old friend, “ He started but I had started out and now stood beside him. I looked at the Dragon open-mouthed.
“Alexis” Jason hissed from the shadows. I looked back and laughed.
“Come out Jason they are friends of mine” I said looking back to the dragon. I heard Jason step out cautiously and come to stand beside me. The dragon hissed at the word friend.
“Friend? I am no friend of man” he said. I smiled.
“Ah but I know you Ignivir” I said my memory came back to me and I saw the dragon as I do now it faded and I took a deep breath. He looked over to Starfire.
“You found her!” He exclaimed. I shook my head.
“What do you mean?” I asked aloud. Ignivir looked at me.
“Not here we will come to you right now though we must go back and pack up take the deer for us please” Starfire said pawing the ground. Ignivir nodded reached over with his claw and snatched the deer up and took off. Jason shook his head and turned to me.
“What just happened?” he asked. I shook my head then turned to Starfire.
“Who are you and who am I” I asked him. He pawed the ground.
“No time we must hurry” He said. As I watched his wings began to fade. I rubbed my aching head and turned to Jason.
“Did you hear anything they said?” I asked. He looked at me like I was crazy.
“What?” he asked. Starfire nudged me.
“Climb on both of you” He said making Jason jump, Jason looked at Starfire open-mouthed.
“Come on hurry” I said turning to Starfire and jumping on. Jason stood there a moment then got on behind me. Starfire snorted and leaped forward into a full out gallop. We made it to camp within a minuet. Archer was saddling the horses and getting ready to go when we came to a stop. I slid down and started pacing only to be stopped by Jason. He had grabbed me by my arms and was now looking me in the eyes.
“Who are you?” He asked. I opened my mouth then closed it and stared off to the side listening. Hoof beats. My eyes widened and I jumped on Starfire.
“Hurry we must go...” I said as Starfire trotted off a little before I turned to see they hadn't moved.
“NOW they are coming” I said angrily and they jumped into action and we were off.
“where are we going?” I asked Starfire.
“Let me lead and I will show you” He said. I shuddered and leaned down into his warm mane and neck. I tried to remember things but it was hard and I soon lost consciousness.
I woke with my eyes still closed and listened to see where I was because I could not remember anything. I heard voices of three but could not tell what they were saying when I felt a tightening around me I realized with a shock that it was Jason and I tensed.
“Your alright easy you almost killed yourself” he whispered in my ear. I opened my eyes and looked around, it was dark but I could make out three horses a man and a dragon. I shivered and looked down I was curled up in Jason's lap leaning into his chest. He shifted bringing my attention back to him.
“You okay?” he asked still whispering. I sighed and snuggled deeper into his embrace. I was comfortable and didn't want to move.
“I am fine” I thought to him reaching for his mind as if he would hear me. He stiffened then let a whoosh of air out.
“Don't do that you scared me” his thoughts answered. I smiled eyes still closed and breathed in the deep forest scent he carried.
“I should get up” I said trying to shrug out of the blanket and his arms. He tightened his grip then released me slowly. I stood and shivered and reached for the blanket, which was my cloak, but Jason had taken it and stood in front of me smiling he handed it to me and I slipped it back on pulling it tightly around me. He started to walk over to Archer and the rest of them. I stood there for a moment then followed him. When I stood there beside him the Dragon, Ignivir, Started to talk.
“Well your awake.. good we thought the spell had almost killed you” He started. I shook my head.
“What?” I asked. Ignivir snorted flames erupting from his nostrils in front of us. Archer, Jason and I jumped back.
“My apologies I forgot we had to wipe your memory from you to save you” He said settling again. I shivered again it was cold.
“Maybe we should start a fire?” Jason stated. Ignivir looked at him then to me and nodded. Archer sighed and Jason left with him to get firewood. I looked outside to see that it was about midnight.
“He really cares for you” Ignivir said. My head snapped back to him.
“What?” I asked shocked and bewildered. Ignivir's teeth showed as he snickered.
“That is what sometimes clouds your fear that, and you know him from before, that is why you saved him instead of left him” Ignivir added then he shifted and bent his head down to me and looked me in the eye.
“give me your hand” he said. I did as he asked. He took a claw and dug it into my skin. It started to bleed.
“Now” he started pulling the claw to his neck and pulling a scale out.
“Catch it in your palm” he added. I put my bleeding palm under his neck as a drop of his blood fell. It burned as each drop fell on my hand and after about five drops my mind was fuzzy and aching.
“Mix it with your own” He said pulling back a little his blood had stopped dropping. I looked down at my hand and took my free hand and started mixing it with my first finger. It changed, turning purple, then the blood seeped back into the wound and sealed it. I blinked and closed my hand to look up at Ignivir.
“What was that?” I asked. He chuckled.
“Nothing but my wisdom and power to help you on this journey for I will be gone when you leave here” He said curling up. A clatter sounded and I turned to see nothing.
“Everything will be enhanced for you so be careful” He said closing his eyes and seemingly falling asleep. Just then Starfire nudged me.
“He is right, what he did will bring your memories back slowly so as to not overload you and cause you to go crazy” Starfire said then turned to the cave, I followed his gaze to see the reason of the loud clattering noises. Jason and Archer were back and Archer still had his equipment on. I shook my head then a memory came to me..
I was laughing as two boy's sat covered in mud swords in their hands they had been fighting …
The memory faded then and I sighed.
Who had they been fighting? And who were they?
I looked to Jason and Archer and gave a chuckle as I realized that they had been a part of my childhood, something that I had not remembered until now. I shook my head and gulped as I realized just who I was. Jason and Archer had set up the branches and now were trying to start it, failing. I stepped forward and took the tools from them and started it with one strike. I then turned to Jason.
“Who is the king?” I asked. He looked at me confused.
“Bradin” He answered. With a sigh he stood. Archer sat down shaking his head. I watched them for a minuet.
“Did he have a daughter?” I asked my back was turned towards them now. I heard someone shift.
“Yes...why” Archer answered. I turned to see nothing had changed except now Jason had his head turned away as if in shame. I looked to Archer and he shrugged. Jason's head snapped and he looked at me, looking into my eyes. His mouth dropped and he shook his head gathering his composure.
“She was said to have died” he whispered. Ignivir opened his eyes and scoffed.
“She did I was hard pressed to save her.” He said. I looked to him and sighed. I turned and started deeper into the cave until I hit the end of it. I turned and slide down the wall wrapping my cloak tight around me and putting my knees up, wrapping my arms around them so I could lay my head against them. I sat there for a long time before I heard someone coming I waited and realized they were about a hundred feet from me.
“I warned you” Ignivir's said his voice a whisper in my mind. I sighed and looked into the darkness only to see everything, it was dark no human could see but I could, It was dull and gray. I soon could see a figure, it appeared to be Jason. He was stepping carefully and came to stand in front of me.
“Alexia?” He said.
“I am here” I whispered, my real name, Alexia, how funny it was that my friends had got that close... I put my chin on my knees. He stepped beside me finding the wall and turned to slide down it with his back. It was quiet but I knew what he wanted to ask.
“I'm not sure” I said before he could ask. He sighed.
“You are, I know because I knew her well when we were little” He said. I glanced at him to see a small smile on his face. I shifted.
“I remember” I said looking into the gray darkness.
“How?” he asked. I shook my head and curled up tighter I thought about what was needed of me and how I was going to do it. My memories came to me as I did this, I watched them until I was to exhausted to control the flow and fell asleep. I was awakened by a growl. I jumped awake and saw that it was just Ignivir. Jason looked at me then into the shadows squinting to see what had scared me. Ignivir snorted and came closer. Jason saw him and scowled. I sat back down with a small thump.
“Alexia?” Ignivir asked laying down in front of us and looking at me. I sighed wrapped my arms around my knees and put my chin on them.
“Yes?” I said tiredly. I felt Ignivir shift and looked up at him.
“I am sorry you were brought into this so young but they have decided to move and any who were unloyal have been been punished, whole towns not just yours” He stopped. My fingers dug into my leg.
“What do you want me to do about it?” I asked him angrily turning my head away from them. I felt Jason scoot closer and nudge me with his shoulder. I looked over to him. He was sad yet hopeful.
“Fight” He said. I then realized that he had heard the whole conversation, it surprised me but not enough to make me react. I shrugged and tightened my arms bringing my knees closer to the point of being uncomfortable.
“Why?” I asked. Ignivir snarled, making the cave rumble. I clapped my hands over my ears and looked at him angrily then looked at Jason he was shaking his head. Jason stood and turned to me I looked up at him.
“Why not?” He asked. I gulped, my body starting to shake, just then Ignivir growled.
“Because she has seen the end result or part of it” Ignivir said. I looked over at him and nodded then looked back to Jason. His eyes were dark and his body stiff. Just then a memory came...
I saw Jason in front of me, younger then he was now, pointing at me and telling me he didn't want to see me again and wished I would leave him alone....
I shook my head as the memory faded. Jason was shaking me. I grabbed his arm and pushed him away. He took a step back.
“I told you to leave her alone..” Ignivir said warning him again. Jason scowled at him then looked back at me. I was wide-eyed and surprised when the scraping of claws made me jump. I looked around and stood. Ignivir had brought me back to the world again. I blinked, then started to the mouth of the cave the light blinded me but I only stopped when I got to the edge. I then looked down and saw the wild landscape below. It was morning and the world seemed to come to life. I could see a falcon flying looking for its breakfast, a lake with a couple of deer around it and more grazing in a meadow. I wished I could fly then these problems wouldn't be here and I could finally live freely. A breeze blew my hair, caressing my check. I closed my eyes and smiled. Then the world came back in full force.
“....You and her and the world why did you..” Archer and Jason were arguing. I turned.
“ENOUGH!” My mind was ringing from the power of my minds voice. Everyone jumped even Ignivir. They looked at me open-mouthed. I almost laughed and ended up with a small smile. Archer and Jason scowled at each other then looked back to me, waiting. Ignivir chuckled and Starfire shook his head.
“I don't understand fully but then I will in time right now though I need to be caught up quicker then what my memories will let me.” I paused and looked to Jason and Archer.
“You two are going to help me” I added. Jason nodded and Archer bowed. I came over and sat down. Jason sat to my right while Archer sat to my left. I looked straight ahead zoning out until Jason gave me a gentle shake.
“Alexia?” He asked. I blinked a couple times then looked to him cocking my head a little. He shook his head and sighed.
“What don't you remember?” Archer asked bringing me back to the situation. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes trying to remember. I could only see shadows and silhouettes.
“Nothing except these two..” I said showing them what I had seen going over each one but not letting them see the horrible end that I had seen the morning we came here. I opened my eyes to see Jason was looking at his boots grimly, Archer was smiling sadly. I scowled then concentrated.
“Don't!” was the last thing I heard before everything came back in a rush....
My childhood flew by me but certain points stopped and I watched as they slipped be moving on to the next. Jason and Archer were the ones that were always there until....
Fire flew into my face as I tried to run but everywhere I turned fire was there. I looked back and saw a man snickering he had a hood on but I saw a flash underneath it and knew it was a crown. I screamed in anger and pain as the flames liked at my arm. I looked around and found that I was now alone then I looked up and with all my might cried for help. I fell a second later and took one last look at the sky and before darkness took me I saw something move above me then nothing.....
I jumped to my feet gasping for breath. It was dark and I was in a cave with a dragon, three horses, and two men. Only one of the men were awake looking out at the stars, but when I moved toward him he turned, knife in hand. When he saw who he turned back around. I remembered now everything that had happened and was scared of the challenge ahead. I came to sit beside him.
“How long have I been out?” I asked Jason. He looked to me and shook his head.
“How did you survive?” He asked me looking back at the stars. I looked with him and smiled before turning back to him to answer his question.
“I'm not sure...” It was sort of true except that when I had started to fade the last thing that had came to me was him and that along with the trauma kept everything from me until I really had tried.
He shook his head still looking at the sky.
“You lie” He said looking me in the eyes. His green ones sparkled as if light shined through them. I had to jerk myself away. I looked back to the stars. They were beautiful, a full moon stood out above the rest. I smiled then looked back to Jason. He was still waiting.
“I thought I had lost my chance to see you again and it destroyed me more then the fire...” I said pulling my long sleeve shirt up to show the scar from the fire. It was the only one left, the others had been minimal and were long gone. I looked to Jason then looked up into the night sky. I felt him gentle grab my arm and turn it to see the burn. I didn't turn to see his reaction but I did pull my arm away, putting both in my lap shyly and intertwined my fingers. I felt him scoot closer. I turned to watch him. He smiled and reached out to grab my hand. I hesitated but sighed and let him. He traced the edges of the burn mark. The flames had licked my arm, it looked like the fire was still there covering my hand stopping on my elbow. It was a light red color now. I looked into Jason's eyes and he into mine. He suddenly let me go and scooted back a little.
“I am sorry” he said. I turned away and started to get up. He didn't stop me so I started down the side of the cliff. We were in the mountains it was beautiful at this time.
“Don't go far..” Starfire said to me. I looked back but only Jason was still there, looking at his hand. I shook my head and started off again. I walked without thinking and ended up on the side of a cliff I looked around to see trees surrounding me in a half circle it was about 30 feet to the forests again. I was going to go back to the where Jason was when I heard hooves. I froze as 4 White Riders came out and surrounded me I wished I had brought my bow and arrows then remembered I had a knife. Great just great. They gathered around and started to cackle.
“I thought I felt her somewhere near I told you that fool didn't kill her.” One to my left said. The other three shook their heads.
“Who and what do you mean?” I asked them looking at each of them. They all looked at me as if I was stupid when an arrow flew out as if from nowhere hitting one of the riders in the shoulder. I jumped into action and stabbed the one to my left and took his horse. She reared then settled and we charged the next rider. I caught sight of Jason on Starfire fighting with another where the third was I had no idea. The one in front of me caught me and I yelped causing Jason to turn and in turning his attacker knocked him off Starfire. I gasped in pain then galloped over to him only to be surrounded before I could reach him.
“Stop there” one hissed. I started to cry.
“Jason edro en heel, travadr el es Ignivir” I thought hard my strength leaving me as the spell did what I asked and as I watched he slowly faded. The riders didn't notice. There were only two now the third Jason had shot was out his horse was wounded and could go no where. With a new determination I gripped my knife and threw it in one Riders face and jumping at the other in the next second. I wrestled with the last one and screamed as we fell off the edge.......
