I walked into class with my head held low. It was raining outside and my hair and clothes were dripping wet. This new town wasn't looking very promising.
I walked to the front of the room and handed my paper to the teacher. He looked at it closely for a second and then looked up at me and smiled brightly.
"Welcome Meghan Hille to Field Biology," he said in a booming voice.
I looked around the class room to see if I liked the looks of anyone. No one caught my eye at first. The teacher led me to a table in the back of the room and told me that was my seat from now on. I just rolled my eyes.
I sat there for a few minutes trying to sort through my thoughts when I realized that I wasn't the only person at the table. He was tall with a nice tan and bright blue eyes that were trained directly on my. I blushed furiously and looked away. When I looked back, he was still staring, unashamed.
