Description:
This group is dedicated to anyone who has experienced a hardship or illness of any type. It is a place where we can share, discuss, and write about our experiences. I know a teacher who offers each of her students either a hug, a high five, or a handshake at the end of every day. It is her way of letting them know they are important to her and she cares about them.

Hello everyone...I would love to get to know all of you and hear your stories. Let's all say hello!

My mother succumbed to cancer of the spine when I was 21. She was my rock and I have missed her ever since.

I lost my only brother to a brain tumor when he was just 39. I have never got over that. It was the worst thing in my life to have ever happened and I miss him terribly.

My beloved grandfather died of throat cancer and I currently have two friends who are going through cancer as we speak. One is bone cancer the other is... Show more

literally only recently worked out that I'm bi. I'm 14. I've had this really weird feeling in the pit of my stomach since I worked it out. I haven't told anybody yet. But I worked out something else at the same time. I also worked out that I love my best friend (who's a girl like me) although over all I like boys more. But this feeling won't go away I'm thinking that it might go away if I tell somebody. So I think I'm going... Show more

I think talking to a good friend is the best place to start. Maybe a school counselor, too ... someone who can help you if you want to talk and you need an adult (rather than a friend). I also think you are lucky to have been able to work this out at a younger age. I went to... Show more

I am the type of person that always looks for the silver lining in a bad situation ... it often helps ease the pain of tough times. Yesterday my uncle passed away. Now, I haven't seen my cousin or his wife in many years and it has been even longer since I've seen their son. They asked to stay with us because... Show more

ya, hang in there - it will come sooner than you think. Just be sure you maintain the maturity you have shown here, and it will all work out. If you need me, let me know. All my best in the meantime. D
