To those arguing that the census is intended to count ""residents"" and that
citizenship is immaterial - let's extend this idiotic fight and now battle
over what constitutes a ""resident"". Should the census be counting the 1
million foreign students in the U.S.? After all, they are residing here,
right? What about foreign nationals overstaying their visas? Residents, too?

That the asking of people whether or not they are citizens for the purpose of
the census can be turned into a political fight is honestly quite numbing.
