"Garlands of Gold"

A Childish Christmas Tree Poem By:
"Garlands of Gold"
A poetic tribute to Christmas trees. Written in a style that is playful, yet carries a message. A great child's book. (I think?)

Reminded me of Tina Charles' song 'Joe'.

To have so much empathy & feeling for the tree is so touching. To reside in that place, where you have so much love for living things, must be a joy & difficult at the same time -- to have the joy of that compassion & yet to choose to be witness to pain as well.
Definitely a breath of fresh air to read this.

You brought out an interesting concept for kids. I think children will like it. Thank you for remembering to make it large enough for us to read it easily.

It was a pleasure to read your work.

I haven't opened this up for awhile, and now maybe I'll see it with fresh eyes.
I'll take your advice and try to tighten it up a bit.
Thanks for stopping by and showing your support..:)

I have some little fakey things, and this year I didn't even put those up. I have three kittens that think everything is a toy at this stage...YIKES!! :)

Thanks for reading and enjoying.

I decided many years ago to buy only balled trees and plant rather than kill. We have some lovely trees surrounding our property from this decision. The previous years I would make Balsam pillows and my trees went to the crib as twigs.
Now, we have fiber optic ~ not the same but a lot less guilt...loved your poem! Paula

What a lovely poem Robin! I really liked it. I never thought that a Christmas tree can evoke such emotions. Great work!
