The silence rung free between sharp rings of ear piercing shrieks, accompanied by flashes of hot white pain echoing through my body in ripples. Pain filled tears slid down my face, the stinging slowly concentrating on my eyes as my throat contracted in desperation to let the air stream into my lungs.
