I read this story gripping my hands together the entire time. This is possibly the strongest contender (in my opinion) and was definitely original. Patrick is one of our best young writers and, once again, has earned my admiration and respect.

There's a burning sensation on my cheek from when this story slapped me in the face. Your premise was amazingly original, imaginative, and even clever. I like the clever. Only real gripe is that your characters didn't really have much for personality, and there was no arc for any of them. They reminded me a lot of cliche college kid characters from movies like "Shark Night" or "I know what you did last summer. Otherwise, you have a lot of serious talent... and a really developed vocabulary.
