What a charming story. Great for adults as well as children. I shall never look at the moon the same way again.

I found this book to be one that children might like. I would caution you about putting illustrations or text in the middle of the page. Of course, it might be that the format ended up differently than what you anticipated. There are people who can help you with this on the site. I can't help you in this area. The reason I mention this is because you wouldn't want to have text and illustrations part of the binding. This might be a problem if you wanted to send the book to a publisher.

An organization that might be of interest to you is the Society of Children's Writers and Illustrators. It goes by SCBWI. They have conferences and bulletins to help you.

I enjoyed reading your work. I think childen might enjoy it.
