When I saw ""Winter's Bone"" in 2010, it was the first time I had ever seen a
movie depict people who looked and lived like the people I knew growing up,
and that treated them with respect as characters. They were not all perfect,
good characters and not everything that happened to them was nice, but it was
exhilarating that for once Hollywood seemed to say to me, ""I know you
exist.""

How wonderful it would be for people of all different backgrounds to
experience this, not just once, but many times! And it would make the movies
that much richer for all of us, our worlds a little bigger.
