I love this, every part of it. It was a sad about a family relationship, and the poem only added to the level of despair. Wonderful

This was a sad tale of a loss to a beautiful life or could be. It makes me want to cry because it is so sad, that many feel this way and ending their life would end the pain. great poem too

It speaks to me of the importance of love for family. With all that we can give, giving of self cannot be replaced with material things. Good short story Laz,one that is food for thought.

Long time without reading here but fortunately found your short story; very interesting and allows for invention of possible reasons. Great.

The sense of desolation is almost audible. Extremely well-written, this is. And since Christina Rossetti is one of my favorite poets, the way you worked her poem into the story's ending tightened the warp and weft to a perfection. Thanks for posting this - I'm saving it to my favorites.

Thanks all.
And it's true about the story being short and lacking info. But that what makes it interesting. Ten people can take this and write ten different stories with it.

I enjoyed it short story very much. You wrote the story so carefully and the emotions of the characters were very real. But, It seems as if the story is too short. I don't know why, but I would like to know more about why she killed herself. Why did her mother die? How was was the father effected by it and how did he treat his daughter after his wife's death, that made her feel so alone?
