I love it! And yes, this is an uncomfortable area for traditional evangelicals to open up to questions. After reading this, I'm almost positive you'd like 'Love Wins.'
It was rather interesting how you simplified the big questions of christian existence. Very clearly written and easy to understand, no unnecessary pompous language. You actually managed to pull some smiles from me.
I think you could expand it a little as it felt unfinished and rushed a bit.
All in all, it is a nice approach and I think that all religious people should ask themselves those questions.
I like the background for the pages too. Very truthful and a bit whats the word... unique? no.. thats not it... I don't know. I'll figure it out later.
Shows you have an open-mind and carry what many do -- you note the inconsistenties in the Bible. I can answer one question for you, though. The reason for some contradictions is because, well, known fact: The Bible was written by men. So, there is some "point-of-views" in there that may or may not be 100% relevant or true today.
Thank you for stating your belief without judging us who believe differently.
If you accept the definition of FAITH as being...
“Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld.”
then with that faith we can find answers in the Holy Scriptures for questions that have perplexed mankind for centuries.
'Love wins'....is that one of your stories?
I wish. No, it's a book by a guy named Rob Bell. He is the former pastor of a church in Grand Rapids, MI.
