Once again, I loved it. The temporary fall of Octavia, the Spartan background, the battle scene with the teenagers. I truly think this is going to be a great novel upon completion.
If I had one complaint...a minor one...it would be the exposition in the first page. I would rather have seen the explanation of the Disruptors narrated; woven slowly (or more slowly) into the scenes forthcoming.
But Unshed Tears follows well on the heels of Bad Omen.

You must be a glutton for punishment.

This is not my usual genre of choice, but since I so admire and like you, I decided to give it a shot. Surprising myself - I enjoyed it immensely. Your words brought the scenes to life and I could see the action emblazoned on the page. You have a wonderfully heroic and strong female protagonist (hooray) and I am interested to see what further adventures ensue.

To pass on a tip I received for one of my own books - go through and remove all the adverbs (words that end with "ly") such as quickly, etc. I hated editing my story this way, but was advised that using adverbs like this is a "no-no." Just passing on the good word!

In summary, well done Kade. Loved your book - love you!
