Haunted by nightmares of the destruction of Arras, his college friends also inform him of a political crisis that could strip every landless citizen of their rights to a vote, begging him to be their champion by taking up his inherited seat in the Knarr Parliament to speak for them. Zeldar has a choice to make—should he remain silent to keep his inheritance, or speak out against all the things that have condemned his very existence yet lose even the woman he loves?
