I enjoyed this story. What is Halloween if not costumes and going out to trick or treat.
I've always associated the name Byron with Lord Byron and spooky stuff. As for the correlation between Macafee and his horrendous deed, if I tell you here, I'll give away the ending.
I wonder...maybe I put the two "sounds" together subconsciously, since I was thinking about you a lot this week (I'll email you with why, and tell you about that correlation).
Anyhow, thanks!
I loved this story, of course it is a pity not being able to go out for Halloween. I only got to go out once when I was a child. Now I'm making up for it as an adult, going to parties. Which still works for me. Anyways, loved the story.
Well written Judy.

Well that was exciting! Please forgive me, Judy dear, but I didn't quite get the ending. What was the correlation between Macafee who killed his wife and son 50 years earlier, and Byron's father who had left. That confused me.
I love the way you incorporated, purely by chance I expect, both my names. My maiden name is Byron and my married name is Fee!!!
I'm delighted that you enjoyed it! I bet Halloween at your house was fantastic when you were young! 'D
Very much so!! Mom had a very vivid and , should I say twisted imagination. So YES it was an adventure...LOL!!!
