Indeed! To be born into a witch clan, is to life a life of anonymity. For the last 1000 years, being such has been deemed a "crime against God and the Church" punishable by the most horrific of deaths and damnation. I am probably one of the few witches of any kind that is known by his own name and not by his craft name and that is considered by all, even in this supposedly enlightened age, as very dangerous. And so it HAS been. We are not simply a minority, but an endangered species as well. Martial arts has been a part of our upbringing to prepare us to fight and hold on to those lives we hold dear. To lose, means to lose all and have history rewritten that even your names be forgotten and your culture unknown. Be they heroes or villians, the greatest warriors *always* fight with their whole heart involved. Their inspiration for performing superhuman feats of strength and a lifetime dedication to their skill comes from there. For *some*, death and destruction are their own reward. For others, it is no less than a labor of love and sometimes personal sacrifice to protect their homes and loved ones from great harm. Sometimes the biggest fight, is simply to decide to fight. In our clannad, I wouldn't have it any other way. Not all of us are practicing witches, but we still want to raise fine human beings. Thanks for reading my stories with a perceptive eye.
