In August of 2014, a deadly disease decimated the world's population. Those that survived called it the end of the world, arriving two years later than the Mayans had predicted. The survivors were left to fend for themselves, scavenging for food and supplies and raiding homes and businesses for their basic needs. Among the survivors are Jayden and Asher, whose efforts to find supplies are more successful gathering new members for their camp than canned goods.
Jen and Brian, having left home, encounter Jayden and Asher after two weeks of wandering open land. Jen's decision to join them was a last resort, and she hoped they'd provide food and shelter better than the occasional rabbit and a lone tree out on a hill. Unknown to Jen, her decision would forever intwine her and Brian with everyone around them, pulling them into an awesome struggle for power and for their lives.
