Quite good. Being written in 1st person present combined with the repetition lent a poetic sense to the story. The suspense of Poe meets the cadence of Homer.
It's quiet in my house right now and everyone is asleep, so I can't test it, but I'd bet this is the type of story that is best when spoken aloud.
Isolation begins on a high note of tension and the feeling of hopelessness. It doesn't let up. As I read it, I was cold and lonely--to the point of despair. Such is the excellence of the narrative. This Flash is definitely a contender. I'm glad I found it.
