Time stood still.

The CCPS officers drew closer, stunners raised to our chest, scanners calculating every microscope movement we made. I glanced over at Espen, a lump in my throat.


He looked over at me, smiled and threw the first shot.


Behind the shrieks of bullets and people, I could hear it, very distant in the background, but still there.


Time had resumed its ticking sonata just as ours begun to end.
