A win but not a decisive one. Much needs to be done to communicate to workers,
retirees and young people that the government has a role to play in the
stability and prosperity of the American people, and that our Constitution and
our rule of law are the basis for a dynamic economy and a fertile environment
for entrepreneurship and the responsible exploitation of our natural
resources. It is even harder to explain that parts of the recent tax bill will
need to be reversed, as it is tying the hands of future administrations and
putting the US on dangerous terrain with ballooning deficits ahead.
