A story we can all relate to: young love and love lost. The pain of war, heartache and moving on. A wonderfully told story with a poignant - but sad - ending.

A truly beautiful story that illustrates how a moment really can last forever.

Sometimes all it takes to live forever is to never be forgotten.

One vote seems like too little reward for such a great story.

This took me back to my high school days as far as era, though I was fortunate not to be called to this war...or any other for that fact. But the chance to fall in love under such circumstances is always fun. I am voting for this one.

A simple, nicely written story about the chance meeting of two young people. I just new it was going to be a sad ending because of the circumstances (Vietnam), but it still pulled at the heartstrings when the ending arrived.

As a teenager in that era, and now the wife of a Vietnam vet, I found this story extremely touching. I could sense how it was going to end, kept hoping I was wrong, but then appreciated how perfectly it fit with the style in which you told it. Lovely, sad, even painful (I had friends who could have been Sarah), and fearless. Thank you, Glen.

Glen, this was a beautiful and touching story. I felt the emotions of Sarah as she reminisced over Mike. The long distance relationship they shared depicts the lonely reality of a soldier at war writing letters back and forth with his loved ones.

The ending was sad, yet it points to the hope that life must go on. It makes one wonder what might have been. I like the way you included the picture at the end. That was a nice touch. Great job!
