Kemble O'Malley is the sole survivor of a lethal fire which destroyed his family and the theater he was raised in. Desperate to find work as an actor, Kemble agrees to work as a clown for his estranged uncle, the owner of a traveling circus. Although Kemble is initially unnerved by the other performers, he soon develops peculiar friendships with them. Kemble soon learns, however, that the circus is a breeding ground for deception, and a killer lies in its midst...
