More Than A Boot
More Than A Boot is a poem by Belinda Slider-Baker that represents the actual boot my dad wore when he was a police officer. It holds sentimental value now that he is gone. I miss him.

My mom gave me the boot as a Christmas present this year. She finally after a couple of years was able to bring herself to do it. I wrote this poem so it could always remind me of the last time his boots were walking with me. Those were the boots that he wore as a police officer and the ones that I helped to the jeep that day.
Thank you

I am deeply moved and touched by your poem for your Dad. He sounds like he was an incredible man. What a way to honor his memory, by filling his boot with beautiful flowers! A part of our loved ones remains and lives within us. You captured that sentiment very well. This is my favorite of your three poems. Great job!
