Short, sweet, and yes, poetic.

I think that even though it's so short, the imagery is beautiful. You should add more verses using this same idea with "morning" and "mourning".

Thank you so much! I'm so happy you like the poem, as well as the cover. With the poem only being twenty syllables but still being metaphor-heavy, I was a little worried. I remember a poet friend reminding me the purpose of the elusive little haiku, though: not the syllables, but the connections, double-entendres, and "Ah-ha!" spoken in a breath. Perhaps this is just a long haiku, then. :)
