I just read your BRAINLESS. As I said in my comments of the book, it is an engaging and entertaining blend of two of my favorite genres: Science Fiction and Mystery/Detective Fiction. Thank you for a most enjoyable read.
*Spoilers for those that haven't read the book.*
I just enjoyed reading Seduction. It was a great story and very aptly titled! Put me in mind of Bentley Little's 'Dominion'. Both stories touch on evil hidden behind the mask of innocence and sexual need. Very erotic and all the more twisted because it calls out to the dark, primal, and forbidden desires that can eat away at a person's soul. My only criticism is that... Show more

Ich entschloss mich trotz aller Widerstände den Kampf aufzunehmen und ein langer Leidensweg begann.

Just read Seduction. I found it very disturbing. That is to say, as a work of horror, it is quite well done. I just feel the story could have been told as effectively--possibly more effectively--without being so graphic. No, I am not a prude, nor was I offended by the graphic details. I just feel that when you have a strong story--such as the one you have in Seduction--graphic sexuality is not necessary. Otherwise, this was... Show more
Just wanted to let you know, I downloaded Seduction. Looking forward to reading it--just don't know when I'll be getting around to it, as I have a rather large pile in the que. Fortunately, though, I am a fast reader. As I said, I'm looking forward to reading the book, particularly because of the one negative review I just read, below.
I read Time Traveler last night. I couldn't resist offering my thoughts to you. First, I really enjoyed the story. Time Travel is one of my favorite Sci Fi themes. I think you handled it with excellence. I particularly liked the ending. It had a very well crafted bit of irony. This was a very entertaining read that gives much to think about. Thank you for the experience.
Thank you for the"um" compliment.

Let me explain why Seduction was so graphic. I was new to the publishing world and wrote a Star Wars story. Being so naive I sent my story to Lucasfims directly. They, of course, sent it back unopened telling me they couldn't open it without a literary agent sending it to them. I was extremely upset and a little angry by their response. I figured "sex sells" so I wrote Seduction, putting adding the explicit sex you read. I'm not normally such a pervert, and should've calmed down my novel quite a bit, but actually left in the garbage for the shock value. The story wouldn't have been the same without the graphic sex.
Unfortunately, even the worst sex magazines won't allow incest of any kind, even though the evil person in my story is the little girl. You can have any other type of sex in these rags, but incest is out.
Oh well... Maybe I'll take your advice and rewrite Seduction someday. Perhaps then you'll like my story better.
P.S.
My Star Wars story used to be on Bookrix, but I haven't logged on here in years and unfortunately it was eliminated. It was well liked by many SW fans around the world. One of the "starpilots" who appeared in A New Hope also read it and loved it. He sent me a message telling... Show more

In my own writing I tend to avoid explicit sexual scenes. It's a choice I make. In fact, it was a choice I made in college, which led a Professor of Creative Writing to accuse me of being afraid to write such material--and to challenge me to write a pornographic story. I wrote a short story in which the operatives in a Private Investigation Agency conduct a type of "war game," where one person is designated the "perp," and another is designated the "victim." The "perp." gets to determine what happpens to the victim, and the rest of the operatives have to solve the crime, and identify the "perp." Even the "victim" does not know the identity.
In this story the crime is a brutal rape--it's supposed to be hypothetical, but the "perp." gets carried away and actually rapes the "victim."
Naturally, since I was responding to a personal challenge from my professor, I let my darker side out in the writing--to the point that when I was finished, I scared myself.
After the professor read the story, and commented favorably that my avoidance of sexual material was clearly a conscious authorial choice, and not fear of sexuality, I destroyed the story. I did not--and still do not--choose to write that sort of thing.
I just want to be clear, overall, I enjoyed reading Seduction. What you have in the basic plot is a truly masterful thriller, a la Rosemary's Baby or The Omen. You story, with the sexual material merely hinted at, would pretty much be worthy of a Stephen King. At least, that's my opinion.
Now that's a true compliment - comparing Seduction to a Stephen novel. Thanks very much for that.
As to the graphic sex, I admit that I went overboard, but it just came out of my head while I wrote this story. I don't follow outlines or take notes, etc., all my ideas come to me... Show more

If you try reading some of my other stories you'll see that I hint at sex, but those stories are not nearly as graphic as Seduction is.
