hi tips for writing are difficult because some of the best writers break the rules, so listen but use your own judgement.
some big questions are

how far are you emotionally and experiently from your subject and can you shorten that distance?

small steps? try small pieces of poetry, or prose first before the bigger stuff

there is no glory just persistence a sore butt and rejection or indifference, even jealousy so toughen up. do it cos you have to.

reading is different from writing. one is like taking apart . demolition often college is teardown anaysis. writing is building with blocks , practice building, listen to speech patterns, at home in cafes,shops.the world is your educator.

hi , just read your book. you set the scene well, clear focused writing . When you switch to Greece you prove you can write graphic sexual stuff well but then your narrative stops.This is a bold piece of writing , well done It is daring and exciting to write about sex but once you have cracked that you realise that on its own it is rarely a narrative, a story .

I think a little narrative before the sex bit . A lead in to the characters and their motivations , a little flirting , circling . Is he so strong , is he weak in some way,is he vulnerable, is he controlling, a louse, is she bold, is she nervous, is she vulnerable then move on to the uncontrollable urges which exist we all know but the preamble, the edging can be more gripping to the reader. And of course the aftermath. Not all sex results in children it can result in guilt , glee, a need for more, release but your book outline suggests there are kids, a breakup and then on. You can hint of this in the lead up to the sex act . "She felt an urge to have children," or seeing her sister's kids made her want, ache to have some," or when she saw him she wanted to have his kids and his kids alone"

Nature is an enormous force within us . Khalil Gibran the philosopher wrote "Children are not your own , they are the product of life's longing for itself." Implying the strength of this natural force and that we as individuals are not in control. Gibrans words are helpful when we are confronted by a judgemental society. We as individuals seek acceptance for our selves and our actions. Gibran is saying a woman having a child is the most natural thing in the world, it is your body responding to an unstoppable force, it is what nature wants, it is hugely right. This may be the underlying theme that you want to explore, from the female characters point of view.

The male character you have fleshed out seems troubled resentful, revengeful even. We want to know why ? does he just see women as sex objects can he mature and see them as people can he understand their needs, eventually reconcile with himself , with the kids with womankind?
Lots to develop here .Some say all writers are working own stuff in their writing - thats perfectly acceptable , it can be a kind of therapy to get it onto the page .
